The Rwanda National Football Team, Amavubi, will discover their opponents for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on May 19, 2026. This eagerly awaited draw will determine the qualifying matches ahead of the 2027 edition of Africa’s biggest football competition which will be jointly hosted by Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya, marking a historic moment for East African football.
The CAF has confirmed that the official draw for the qualifiers will take place on 19 May 2026.
The qualification campaign will be played across three international windows:
• Match Days 1 and 2: 21 September to 6 October 2026
• Match Days 3 and 4: 9 to 17 November 2026
• Match Days 5 and 6: 22 to 30 March 2027
The final tournament of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2027 is scheduled to run from 19 June to 17 July 2027 across the three host nations.
With East Africa hosting the tournament, the qualification campaign carries added significance for Rwanda, as Amavubi seeks to book its place among the continent’s best national teams.
