AS Kigali WFC and Gorilla FC secured bronze medals following victories in the third place play-off matches of the FERWAFA Peace Cup 2026 staged on Thursday at Kigali Pele Stadium.

In the women’s third-place playoff, AS Kigali WFC defeated Muhazi United WFC 1-0 in a closely contested encounter to finish the tournament among the top three teams. Following their victory, AS Kigali WFC will pocket cash prize of two million Rwandan Francs.

In the men’s category, Gorilla FC produced a dominant performance, slashing Etincelles FC 6-1. The result earned Gorilla FC a cash prize of three million Rwandan Francs.

The awarding ceremony was presided over by Richard Mugisha, FERWAFA’s Second Vice President in charge of Technical Matters and Development. Mugisha congratulated the teams for their performances and their competitive spirit displayed throughout the tournament.

The FERWAFA Peace Cup 2026 continued to highlight the steady growth and competitiveness of football in Rwanda, with clubs from both the men’s and women’s categories displaying quality, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the competition.
