CAF Confirms 2026/27 Interclub Calendar as APR FC and Rayon Sports Step Up Continental Preparations

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the match calendar for the 2026/27 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup, giving clubs across the continent a clear timeline to prepare for the new season.

For Rwanda, the calendar provides an important planning framework as APR FC and Rayon Sports, the clubs set to represent the country on the continental stage, intensify their preparations. The two clubs are currently undergoing the CAF Club Licensing process, a mandatory requirement for participation in CAF interclub competitions.

APR FC is set to represent Rwanda in the CAF Champions League, while Rayon Sports is preparing for the CAF Confederation Cup, subject to successfully meeting the CAF Club Licensing requirements.

The preliminary rounds of both competitions will begin on 4th to 6th September 2026, allowing the Rwandan representatives sufficient time to complete administrative requirements, reinforce their squads, and finalize technical preparations ahead of the continental campaign.

The early release of the calendar gives both Rwandan clubs ample time to strengthen their squads, finalize preseason programmes, and prepare strategically for the challenges of continental football.

CAF has also confirmed that the finals of both competitions will be played in May 2027, with the Champions League winners receiving USD 6 million and the Confederation Cup champions earning USD 4 million.
