The five-day FIFA Member Association (MA) Refereeing Course for Young Talents officially concluded this Friday 10th July 2026, marking the successful completion of an intensive programme designed to strengthen the next generation of Rwandan match officials.
Throughout the course, participants underwent classroom instruction, fitness sessions, technical assessments and practical on-field exercises, receiving guidance from FIFA and FERWAFA instructors to enhance their knowledge of the Laws of the Game and modern refereeing standards.
Closing the course on behalf of FERWAFA, Second Vice President in charge of Technical Matters and Development, Richard Mugisha, commended the young referees for their commitment and encouraged them to remain disciplined as they pursue higher levels of officiating.
“This course is only the beginning of your journey. Continue learning, work hard, maintain discipline and integrity, and aim to represent Rwanda at CAF and FIFA competitions. The future of Rwandan refereeing is in your hands,” said Richard Mugisha.
The FIFA MA Refereeing Course forms part of FERWAFA’s continued commitment to developing high-quality match officials capable of meeting international standards and contributing to the growth of football in Rwanda.
