FERWAFA conducts Annual Club Licensing Workshop for Men’s Second Division Clubs

FERWAFA, through its Club Licensing Department, has today  17th July 2026 officially conducted the annual Club Licensing Workshop for Men’s Second Division (D2) clubs as preparations for the 2026/27 football season continue.

The one-day workshop brought together representatives from all Men’s Second Division clubs to strengthen their understanding of the Club Licensing system and its role in promoting well-managed, sustainable, and professional football clubs.

Throughout the workshop, participants reviewed the Club Licensing requirements and procedures across the different licensing criteria, including sporting, infrastructure, personnel and administrative, legal, and financial aspects. The sessions also provided an opportunity for clubs to receive updates, clarify licensing requirements, and share experiences ahead of the new season.

The workshop forms part of FERWAFA’s ongoing commitment to supporting league professionalization by enhancing standards in club administration, governance, financial management, and infrastructure development.

By equipping clubs with the knowledge and tools required to meet licensing standards, FERWAFA aims to strengthen the capacity of Second Division clubs and promote good governance, transparency, and long-term sustainability across Rwandan football.

The annual Club Licensing Workshop remains an important platform for ensuring that clubs are well prepared to meet the licensing requirements and contribute to the continued development and professionalization of football in Rwanda.
