As part of preparations for the CECAFA Kagame Cup 2026, scheduled to take place in Rwanda from 24 July to 8 August 2026, match officials have begun a refresher course focusing on the latest Laws of the Game.

The course, taking place at Grand Legacy Hotel, is led by CECAFA Head of Refereeing Ali Ahmed, alongside four other CECAFA instructors. Sessions cover recent law modifications, amendments, and changes to ensure referees are fully prepared for the tournament.

The programme began with a fitness assessment, where all participating officials successfully met the required standards and were declared fit for duty.

The refresher course is part of CECAFA’s commitment to ensuring high officiating standards throughout the regional showpiece.
