FIFA APPOINTS TALENT COACH, FREDERIC CREBILLER, TO FERWAFA

The Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) is pleased to announce its participation in FIFA’s prestigious global Talent Development Scheme (TDS), an initiative dedicated to nurturing young athletes with exceptional potential. This program is set to revolutionize youth football in Rwanda by establishing sustainable systems focused on: identifying talent, training talent, showcasing talent and creating developmental environments

To achieve the overarching mission of fostering a robust culture of individual player development and ensuring every young talent is given the opportunity to excel, FIFA has appointed Frédéric Crebiller to help FERWAFA to realize this mission.

The appointment of Crebiller, in collaboration with the FERWAFA Technical Director Gérard Buscher, will spearhead the development of FERWAFA’s Talent Development Pathway.

Earlier today, Crebiller was welcomed to FERWAFA HQ in Remera, Kigali City. Accompanied by FIFA’s high performance specialist Antony Baffoe and FIFA Regional Office Lead Davis Ndayisenga, Crebiller met FERWAFA’s management led by General Secretary Bonnie Mugabe who was in company of DTN Buscher and FERWAFA’s Education Officer Hamim Bazirake.

The meeting focused on upcoming implementation process of the TDS project in Rwanda.

Crebiller holds a UEFA A coaching license and hails from Évreux, France. He brings extensive experience in youth development and talent identification, having held multiple roles across Africa since 2004.

Most notably, he served as Technical Director of the Académie Alima in Congo-Brazzaville, a project initiated by World Cup champion Blaise Matuidi.

With the partnership between FIFA and FERWAFA now fully underway, Rwanda begins a transformative journey, one designed to elevate the next generation of football talents in bid to position the nation for future success on the global stage.

Targeting players aged 12 to 16, the TDS scheme will empower young Rwandans to grow technically, mentally, and personally, helping them turn dreams into achievable pathways and this project will run in Rwanda for the next two years, as part of a broader five-year global initiative.
