FERWAFA handed over FIFA badges to Rwandan referees who made it on to the 2026 FIFA International Refereeing list. 

The event held on Thursday at FERWAFA HQ, was attended by Commissioner in charge of Refereeing Louis Hakizimana and FERWAFA GS Bonnie Mugabe. 

Both officials urged the referees to aim for excellence with emphasis on zero-tolerance to corruption and match manipulation.

The referees were reminded of their duty as role models on and off the field and to uphold integrity and professionalism.

The referees applauded FERWAFA’s efforts to develop the game and improve referees' welfare and pledged to deliver higher standards of performance in 2026.
