Women’s Peace Cup Preliminary Round Draw Conducted at FERWAFA Headquarters

The draw for the preliminary round of the 2026 Women’s Peace Cup was officially conducted on 10 February 2026 at the headquarters of the Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA), bringing together women’s football clubs registered to compete in this year’s edition of the tournament.

During the draw, the participating teams were paired to determine the fixtures for the preliminary round, which will be played on a home-and-away basis. The matchups and venues were confirmed as follows:

Gakenke Ladies FC vs Bright Ladies FC – Nyakina

Center for Champions vs Kayonza AEE

Kabare WFC vs Macuba WFC – Kabarondo

Impanga WFC vs Muhazi WFC – Kiramuruzi

Bugesera WFC vs Katamapoto WFC – Bugesera Stadium

APR WFC vs Greenland WFC – Kamena

From these encounters, the nine best-performing teams, determined by the highest number of goals scored over the two legs, will qualify for the Round of 16 (1/8 finals). They will be joined at this stage by seven teams that were exempted from the preliminary round due to their strong performance in last season’s Women’s Peace Cup.

The seven teams that automatically advance to the Round of 16 are Indahangarwa WFC, Inyemera WFC, Forever WFC, Rayon Sports WFC, Police WFC, Gatsibo WFC, and AS Kigali WFC. These clubs reached at least the quarterfinal stage of the 2025 Women’s Peace Cup and, as a result, will enter the competition at the Round of 16.

The first-leg matches of the preliminary round are scheduled to take place between 17 and 18 February 2026, marking the official kickoff of the 2026 Women’s Peace Cup campaign.

FERWAFA reaffirmed its commitment to promoting women’s football in Rwanda, noting that the Peace Cup continues to serve as an important platform for competition, talent development, and the growth of the women’s game nationwide.
