AS Kigali Women Football team has recorded a new chapter in Rwanda Women Football History book by winning every cup of the tournament that the team has registered into in Rwanda in 2022-2023 calendar. This historical move was recorded 01st October 2023, at Kigali Pele Stadium after winning Women Super Cup against Rayon Sports Women Football Club by the score of 1-0 netted by a certain Nadine on 66th Minute on a penalty.
Rayon Sport had reached the Final
after defeating the Inyemera WFC on a penalty shoots (5-4) after the two teams
failed to secure a victory with a 1-1 score, in normal 90-minute time and
penalty shoots came as the verdict to decide the winner, who was supposed to
meet AS Kigali WFC because this last, had won both cups, the first division
women cup and the Peace Cup that normally decides the opponent of the first
division winner.

Football Club, Mrs. Theogenie said that this Super cup will sharpen their zeal
to win more trophies. “And with respect, I congratulate also Rayon sports for
the challenge and we hope that the League this year will be more competitive
and interesting to the players and fans.” She added.
This Super cup is the first in the History of the women football and will be happening every year at the beginning of the women leagues, where the winning team will be going away with 5million as the prize money and the first runner up team with 3million.
