The FIFA Coach Educators Development Pathway Assessment is currently underway, bringing together 19 coach educators and coaches from across Africa in a significant step toward strengthening coach education standards on the continent.
The participants represent Rwanda (2), Uganda (2), Kenya (1), Sierra Leone (1), Gambia (3), Eritrea (2), Ethiopia (1), Mauritius (3), and South Sudan (2). The program forms part of FIFA’s structured pathway designed to professionalize and elevate the role of coach educators within Member Associations.
Rwanda is represented by Hamim Bazirake and Sosthene Habimana, who have been part of the Coach Educators Development Pathway since its inception in 2023. Having progressed through various modules over the past years, they are now undertaking the official assessment phase.
The assessment is being delivered by a team of FIFA experts including John Kaputa, Zunaid Mall, Frans Mogashoa, and Keneilwe Mathibela, who are guiding and evaluating participants through both theoretical and practical components.
The FIFA Coach Educators Development Pathway aims to ensure that those responsible for training coaches meet international standards in methodology, leadership, communication, and technical expertise, ultimately contributing to sustainable football development across Member Associations.
